War on Cops: HuffPo Thanksgiving Front Page Stokes Flames of Chicago Protests

The front page of leading liberal new media site The Huffington Post greeted their early morning Thanksgiving viewers with a stew of anti-police headlines, all under the banner headline “Monsters With Badges.” Later in the morning HuffPo had the same theme but switched the headline to the more festive “Rotten to the Core.”

Arrests at Protests over Chicago Police Video

Chicago police have reportedly made three arrests–thus far–at demonstrations that broke out Tuesday evening following the release of a video showing the shooting death of 17-year-old Laquon McDonald last October. McDonald was shot 16 times by Officer James Van Dyke, who was recently charged with murder.

Chicago Police Release Video of Teen’s Shooting Death

The city of Chicago was on edge Tuesday evening as the Chicago Police Department prepared to release a video of the death of 17-year-old Laquan MacDonald, who was shot 16 times by Officer Jason Van Dyke in October last year. The teen was black, the officer white.

400 Additional Murders In 2015, Admits Progressive Report

Murder rates in the nation’s top cities have climbed by 11 percent in 2015, but that’s no big deal, says the progressive Brennan Center for Justice. “Because the underlying rate of murders is already so low, a relatively small increase in the numbers can result in a large percentage increase… murder rates are roughly the same as they were in 2012, and 11 percent higher than they were in 2013,” said the report.
