Armed Men Hold UN Chief Rep in Crimea

KIEV, March 5 (Reuters) – Armed men seized Robert Serry, a special representative of U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in Ukraine’s Crimea region on Wednesday, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said.

Serry has previously served as a special representative to the Middle East, dealing with the peace process. He arrived in Crimea at the beginning of March.

Serry has also previously served as Dutch Ambassador to Ukraine.
