Conservatives 'Waste Time' On Anti-Racism Poster On Critical Week for Ukraine

Conservatives at the European Parliament have been accused of ‘wasting time’ by posing for an anti-racism poster on a critical week: when the Ukrainian Prime Minister was in Brussels to discuss the Crimea crisis.

They posed for the photo as today is The United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The MEPs including the group leader, Richard Ashworth, held banners with “one race, the human race”, “never judge a book by its cover” and “we share more than divides us”.

But one former European Parliament staffer was unimpressed: “I can’t understand the point of this exercise, it’s just a total waste of time and probably money.

“Europe is faced with one of the biggest crises since the fall of the Soviet Union and the Conservative team are wasting time supporting UN anti-racism day. This is yet more evidence that the EU its all about political correctness and hobby horse projects.”
