MH370: Mystery 'May Not be Solved'

Malaysia has warned that the mystery over the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 may never be solved, as Prime Minister Najib Razak travels to Perth for talks on the search. Mr Razak is due to visit the Joint Agency Coordination Centre (JACC) in Austrlia, where the search of the southern Indian Ocean is being coordinated.

The BBC report that the Malasyian Prime Minister is due to meet Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia, and Air Chief Marshall Angus Houston, who is heading the JACC.

Malaysian police chief Khalid Abu Bakar said today that the criminal investigation may “go on and on and on.”

He added: “We have to clear every little thing. At the end of the investigation, we may not even know the real cause. We may not even know the reason for this incident.”

He also said that police have now “cleared” all the plane’s passengers of the four areas being investigated: hijacking, sabotage, psychological problems and personal problems.

More than 170 interviews have also been conducted with families of the crew members, and even cargo and food served had been investigated.

The search area remains approximately 85,300 square miles wide, but poor weather conditions are once again hampering search efforts. Low cloud, together with sea fog and thunderstorms have reduced visibility for search planes, according to JACC.

British submarine HMS Tireless has joined the search party, and it will soon be joined by the ship HMS Echo.

Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson has also lent his private jet to help with the search effort.
