Mother of Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo Admits She Wanted to Abort Him

The mother of Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has admitting trying to abort him while she was pregnant. Dolores Aveiro said that when he doctor refused to allow her to have to procedure, she resorted to home recipes such as drinking warm beer and frantic exercise, the Daily Star reports.

She made the admission in a new biography published today in Portugal, called “Mother Courage”. Speaking at the launch, she said that the Real Madrid player knew about the secret and was able to joke about it. She said: “He told me when he found out, ‘Look mum, you wanted to abort and now I’m the one who’s pulling the purse-strings in the house.'”

Ronaldo grew up to become one of the world’s most successful footballers. He was signed by Manchester United in 2003 for £12.24million, and in 2008 captained his team for the first time and came third in the FIFA World Player of the Year Award.

When he moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid, he became world’s most expensive player, transferring for £80 million.

Dolores also spoke about Cristiano’s son, Cristiano Junior, whose mother remains unknown to the press. She revealed that picked the baby up from a clinic in Florida while Cristiano was playing in the 2010 World Cup.

When he told her he was going to be a father, he said: “I’m going to have a child and I want you to be the one to help me educate him and give him love, as you’ve always done with me and my brothers and sisters.”
