A Right Royal Photo Bomb For Ozzie Athlete

A Right Royal Photo Bomb For Ozzie Athlete

If team mates had predicted that Australian hockey player Jayde Taylor would be “royally photobombed” at the Commonwealth Games she might have assumed it was a mere turn of phrase. But a royal photo bombing is what literally happened to her as she took a selfie this morning.

The 29 year old from Perth posed for a photo ahead of Australia’s hockey match against Malaysia only to realise that the Queen had got in on the action from behind a fence. Performing what might be considered the ultimate photo bomb.

The Queen was about to take her seat with Prince Phillip to watch the Ozzies win 4-0, when she smiled for the camera. The royal couple also stayed around to watch the England v Wales game.

When Taylor spotted the Queen in her picture she immediately put it on twitter with an excited message to Ellen Degeneres, in which she claimed to have “a selfie that tops yours”. A reference to the famous picture Ellen took at the Oscars that went viral.

This is believed to be the first time the Queen has “photo bombed a selfie”, it is unknown whether she plans further stunts in the future.
