Queen's 'Strange' World of Selfies

Queen Elizabeth II finds meeting crowds of people holding mobile phones strange and misses the days of eye-contact, according to the US ambassador to Britain.

Ambassador Matthew Barzun told Tatler magazine he had a “nice chat” with the monarch in a visit to Buckingham Palace when he was appointed in 2013.

Queen Elizabeth told him “how strange she finds it these days, with the crowds all standing there holding up their mobile phones,” the magazine said.

The queen has repeatedly been targeted by people hoping to take selfies with her at public events, after several of the photos went viral on social media.
