Scottish pop duo, The Proclaimers, have given their backing to the Scottish National Party. The twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid today said they were impressed by Sturgeon’s “sincerity and humanity”.
The pair became famous with their 1987 number three hit Letter from America. They backed it up with other chart toppers including I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles). They join around half of all Scots who now say they are going to vote SNP on Thursday.
The brothers said: “We’re long term SNP supporters and in this most crucial election for a generation, we fully back the SNP. Nicola Sturgeon is the most impressive politician in the UK, her sincerity and humanity are like a breath of fresh air.”
