Aborted babies accounted for over a quarter deaths in the England and Wales last year, latest figures reveal.

Last month, Breitbart London reported how 26.78 per cent of all deaths in 2013 were due to abortion. Now newly released government figures put the rate for 2014 at 26.9 per cent.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show there were a total of 501,424 deaths in England and Wales last year, but these do not include abortions. Meanwhile, separate figures show that 184,571 abortions were performed in England and Wales in same year.

If you add these figures together, there were a total of 685,995 deaths in England and Wales in 2014, meaning that 26.9 per cent of deaths were from abortions.

The figure has remained virtually unchanged for the past few years. Abortions accounted for 26.78 per cent of deaths in 2013, 27.05 per cent in 2012, 28.17 per cent in 2011 and 27.76 per cent in 2010.

The very slight variation in percentages is largely due to slightly higher and lower official death rates each year as well as a small difference in the number of abortions.

Paul Tully from the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) told Breitbart London that figures show abortion “causes more deaths than heart disease, cancer and any other individual illness”.

He added: “Besides reported abortions, many more unborn children are thought to die as a result of various birth control methods – especially IUDs, morning-after pills, and hormonal birth control methods – and many early embryos are destroyed in the IVF industry because they are imperfect or surplus to requirement.”

When we reported the previous figures last month, Peter D. Williams of Right to Life UK said: “That unborn children comprise – when included – over a quarter of all mortalities in the UK illustrates the stark disregard, disrespect, and lack of empathy for human life, and especially the most vulnerable human beings, that legalised abortion has introduced so insidiously into our culture.

“Not only has our society normalised a profoundly uncaring attitude towards babies in the womb when they are deemed to be inconvenient or imperfect, but it fails to adequately support women in unplanned pregnancy to have their children.”

America is currently being scandalised by revelations that Planned Parenthood, the country’s largest abortion provider, tried to sell organs from aborted babies.

An undercover video shot by pro-life group the Centre for Medical Progress shows the chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood talking about how to abort a child so its body parts can be harvested.

Dr Deborah Nucatola is filmed saying: “A lot of people want intact hearts these days, because they are looking for specific nodes,” adding: “Yesterday was the first time she said people wanted lungs. And then, like I said, always as many intact livers as possible. People just want…some people want lower extremities, too. I mean that’s easy. I don’t know what they’re doing with it, I guess they want muscle.”
