Global wrestling superstar and reality TV dad Hulk Hogan has been erased from the website of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) following the release of a transcript of a racist tirade made by the 12-time world champion.

Fox News reports that Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, had his contract with the WWE terminated today after Radar Online and the National Enquirer released a transcript in which he admitted to being racist, and used the pejorative word for black people – ni**er – a number of times.

“WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide,” the organisation said.

Mr Bollea’s lawyers say that he voluntarily resign after the details of a tape emerged. In the tape, the most famous wrestler in the world is said:

“I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f*cking n*ggers. But then when it comes to nice people and sh*t, and whatever.”

He discusses his daughter Brooke’s personal life:

“I mean, I’d rather if she was going to fuck some ni**er, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall ni**er worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player!..

“I guess we’re all a little racist. Fucking ni**er.”

Bollea took to his Hulk Hogan Twitter account to post a message to his 1.3 million followers:

It isn’t the first time Bollea has fallen out with WWE, but it may well be the last. With his best days behind him, the corporation is unlikely to re-sign the former champion.
