Police are investigating after a “young man” has been spotted giving cards to fellow rail passengers informing them they are fat, and should lose weight for their own good.

Critics of the healthy eating campaigner have called his actions “hateful”, and said the targets of his advice were the victims of fat shaming.

The cards came to the attention of police after one Rubenesque recipient tweeted out pictures of her gift, tagging transit authority Transport for London in her communication. Apparently printed in business card format, the message from ‘overweight Haters Ltd’ informs the holder: “It’s really not glandular, it’s your gluttony…

“Our organisation hates and resents fat people. We object to the enormous amount of food resources you consume while half the world starves. We disapprove of your wasting NHS money to treat your selfish greed.

“And we do not understand why you fail to grasp that by eating less you will be better off, slimmer, happy and find a partner who is not a perverted chubby-lover, or even find a partner at all”.

The authors of the card also objected to one particularly popular farm-yard animal being used as an insult towards the full-bodied. They wrote: “We also object that the beatiful [sic] pig is used as an insult. You are not a pig. You are a fat, ugly human”. The reverse of the card merely bears the legend, in heavy type, “fat”.

The original tweets have generated hundreds of replies, many moving to reassure the victim how beautiful she is, regardless of her weight. Others postulated the tweet had been sent out of a desire for attention and validation from strangers.

Keen to spread her plight as far and wide as possible, the recipient took to Facebook to protest having been called fat, reports The Independent. She wrote:

“I was handed this card this morning on the underground and I would appreciate if people tweeted, posted etc all over the internet. I am not upset myself. I am smaller than the national average and not exactly obese, but this is hateful and cowardly and could potentially upset people struggling with eating disorders.

“… plus to the person who wrote this card. go back to school, you can’t spell beautiful”.

While the creator of the card is correct in saying obesity is a major strain on the NHS, the postulation that “half the world starves” while the fat gorge themselves is wide of the mark. Fewer people are now starving worldwide than at any point in history, and the situation continues to improve year on year.

A spokesman for the British Transport Police confirmed they were investigating the incident, but would give no further details. The spokesman told Breitbart London the force would not speculate on whether any offence had been committed by handing out the leaflets, or which offences could possibly be involved.
