Stoke By-Election Candidate Arrested for Inciting Racial Hated

The Stoke-on-Trent Central by-election has taken a new turn, with an eccentric, anti-immigrant independent candidate being arrested for inciting racial hatred.

Barbara Fielding, 78, wants to scrap the Magna Carta and to bring back absolute monarchy. She was arrested after calling for “all immigrants and their ancestors” to be repatriated.

Complaints were made after she proposed the policy on her website, which also claims that “all Indian nations, including the Israeli Jews, are determined to control and take over the whole world”, and promised, “TO GET OUR WHITE EUROPEAN SUPREMACY BACK.”

Her manifesto reads: “Abolish Magna Carta, Reinstate Monarchy Party, fully intends to Nationalise and make profitable the Coal Industry, Electricity, Gas, Water, BT, National Lottery, Royal Mail, Post Office, BBC & Railways.”

“Drug addicts will no longer receive free treatment via the NHS for their addiction… The NHS will be abolished, along with all the scams that go with it,” the document adds.

Mrs. Fielding told Stoke Sentinel: “I was arrested on suspicion of publishing racial hatred material on my website. Someone must have made a complaint to the police. They took me away and took my files, my paperwork, my mobile phone and my computer. I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong. I’m not worried about this.

“I’m giving information to anybody who wants to read it. I’m not saying people should go out and do something bad to immigrants. I set up my website 18 months ago. I wasn’t involved in politics before, but I just felt politicians had made a mess of things.”

Staffordshire police confirmed that a 78-year-old woman had been arrested under section 19 of the Public Order Act 1986, which makes it an offence to publish or distribute written material that may stir up racial hatred.

“This follows a complaint made to Staffordshire Police regarding the content and distribution of campaign literature relating to the Stoke-on-Trent Central by-election being held on Thursday 23 February 2017”, a police source said.

Mrs. Fielding was released on bail shortly after her arrest.

UKIP have been leading the polls ahead of the Stoke-on-Trent Central by-election next week, hoping to snatch the seat from Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party, who Mr. Nuttall says are “out of touch”.

Ladbrokes earlier this week gave Mrs. Fielding just 1,000/1 odds.
