Charing Cross Road and parts of Trafalgar Square have been closed to the public, and Charing Cross Station — the historical geographical centre of London — has been closed to passengers “as a precaution”.

A popular area with tourists and Londoners alike, left items of luggage may be a common occurrence but the scale of the police operation may reflect the high level of alert in the city after Britain experienced three mass-casualty terror attacks in three months.

The United Kingdom goes to the polls today to select a new government — as reported by Breitbart London, many polling stations today are under police armed guard to reassure and protect the voting public.
