London’s Metropolitan Police announced two further arrests in the course of their investigation into the Parsons Green bombing of Friday 15th, which took place in Wales Wednesday morning.

The fresh arrests follow a third which also took place in Wales Tuesday evening, bringing the total held in custody over the attack to five individuals.

In a press release, the force — which is responsible for Britain’s counter-terror policing as well as for London — said two men aged 48 and 30-years-old respectively has been arrested under section 41 of the Terrorism Act in Newport, Wales.

Breitbart London reported Tuesday on a separate arrest in relation to the attack on Tuesday night, which saw a 25-year-old man arrested at a separate address in Newport.

The first two suspects arrested, who were taken into custody on Saturday in locations in Dover and London — an 18-year-old male believed to the primary bomber and a 21-year-old man widely identified as Syrian born Yahyah Farouk — are still being questioned by officers. Although under normal British law the time available to interrogate the suspects has now elapsed, extra time to question the men was granted Tuesday by Westminster Magistrate’s Court.

The attack on Friday at Parsons Green station — part of London’s network of Underground Trains — left 30 injured, but fortunately no fatalities. Although the explosive was reported to have been of the same kind used in the recent Manchester attack, and in the 2005 London bombings the improvised device didn’t detonate properly, creating a flash fireball rather than a fragmenting explosion.

All 30 of those who were admitted to hospital after the attack — either for flash burns or injuries sustained during the stampede after the attack — have now been discharged.

Commander Dean Haydon, head of the Met Counter Terrorism Command, said after the third arrest earlier this week: “This continues to be a fast-moving investigation. A significant amount of activity has taken place since the attack on Friday.

“We now have three men in custody and searches are continuing at four addresses. Detectives are carrying out extensive inquiries to determine the full facts behind the attack.”

“We anticipate that the searches will take some days to complete and may cause further disruption. However it is important that we continue with these searches and I’d like to thank all those affected for their support, patience and cooperation,” he added.
