Obamacare Insurance Premiums to Jump, up to 51%

Major insurers in some states are proposing up to 51 percent premium increases for health plans sold under the Affordable Healthcare and Patient Protection Act, commonly referred to as Obamacare. Despite single digit increases for 2015, insurance companies are seeing their costs jump and are demanding to be compensated with dramatically higher rates.

School Apologizes For Failing To Notify Parents Prior To Reading Transgender Book To K-3 Children

Public school officials in Kittery Point, Maine apologized to parents of students in kindergarten through third grade for failing to notify them before their children were exposed to a book about a transgendered child during a lesson on tolerance and acceptance. A parent of a first-grader at the school called school principal David Foster when her son came home asking questions about sexual identity.

Israel Leading International Efforts to Treat Victims of Deadly Nepal Earthquake

Israel, a country of only 8 million people, has the second largest foreign volunteer force (behind India) in assisting Nepalese victims of Saturday’s 7.8 magnitude earthquake. An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) delegation of over 250 doctors and humanitarian workers touched down in Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, on Tuesday to provide treatment for those injured by the deadly quake.
