Britain Apologizes for Detaining IDF Reserve Officer for War Crime

An IDF Reserve officer was detained for questioning several weeks ago in Britain on charges of “war crimes” before diplomatic efforts secured his released, according to Yediot Acharonot.

The officer flew to Britain on a private business visit and was held, but not arrested, for several hours before he was released, afar which the British government formally apologized.

Anti-Israeli organizations have been lobbying foreign governments to arrest Israeli army officers and soldiers on charges that they committed war crimes in the counter-terror Operation Protective Edge campaign last year.
