For Iran’s Nuclear Intentions, Look to Its Constitution

Only a few days remain before the June 30th deadline for a comprehensive agreement between Washington and Tehran on the latter’s nuclear program is to be reached. The defining issue remains Iranian intentions. While U.S. negotiators have struggled with intelligence assessments to gain a clearer focus on this, a document stating those intentions, in the mullahs’ own words, is overlooked—Iran’s constitution.

Kurds Overtake ISIS Base, Eye Terror Group’s Syria HQ

Kurdish forces have successfully defeated Islamic State terrorists in a late Tuesday battle near the jihadi group’s headquarters in Raqqa, Syria. The Kurdish troops’s latest victory comes on the heels of a successful mission last week that saw its YPG-led forces capture a Turkish border town from ISIS, according to reports.

Report: ISIS Finance Chief Killed in Iraq

The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) group’s master of coin was killed on Tuesday in “a booby trap ambush” on his way back to Mosul, Iraq, after he participated in opening a prison for women who refuse to engage in “sexual jihad,” Kurdish news service Rudaw has learned.

Israel Welcomes New Egyptian Ambassador

Israel accepted Egypt’s new Ambassador to the holy land, Hazem Khairat, over the weekend. The diplomat, who has prior experience as Egypt’s envoy to the Arab league and Egyptian ambassador to Chile, will be the first Ambassador from Cairo to permanently stay in Tel Aviv since 2012.

A pamphlet from the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) surfacing on Twitter and allegedly floating around ISIS-controlled territories is advertising a Koran-recital contest for men, offering Yazidi sex slaves as grand prizes to the most well-versed in the religious text. It expires on June 27.

Kurds: 8 Germans Among 22 ISIS Fighters Killed by Coalition Airstrikes

According to Kurdish officials, eight of the 22 ISIS fighters killed by recent coalition airstrikes in northern Iraq were German nationals. The airstrikes were conducted in the Aski Mosul region, west of the ISIS stronghold in Iraq, the city of Mosul. Kurdish forces were said to be involved in providing intelligence for the air campaign.

Taliban Suicide Bomber, Gunmen Attack Afghan Parliament

A Taliban suicide bomber and at least six gunmen attacked the Afghan parliament as lawmakers voted to endorse a new defense minister. “A woman and a 10-year-old girl were killed and 31 civilians were injured,” reports USA TODAY. Some news outlets report that seven gunmen were involved in the assault while others say six.
