Islamist Terrorism: The British Connection

Douglas Murray from the London Based think tank, The Centre for Social Cohesion, joins Frank to discuss the most comprehensive open source intelligence resource on U.K. based Islamist terrorists. The report, Islamist Terrorism: The British Connection is an exhaustive compendium of profiles which chronicle all Islamist terror convictions and suicide attacks of the last decade. It also connects this data with world wide data and establishes the U.K. as an international hub of Islamist terrorism. According to Frank, “…the (former) Labor government …actually embraced the Muslim Association of Britain and other Muslim Brotherhood fronts as part of their outreach effort.” Douglas gives a forecast of a possible U.K. counter terror policy under the new coalition government.

Douglass also offers new perspective found no where in U.S. media on the political machinations behind Scotland’s release of Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi. For starters, Douglas states that, “If you are the Scottish, dissolved parliament, Justice Secretary, there is not much to do with your time. I would have thought he could have found time to at least find out whether Megrahi was really going to die in six weeks or whether he was going to live for another twenty years.” Listen to the conversation here:[audio:http://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/upload/wysiwyg/media/G08062010DouglasMurray.mp3]
