Today on Frank Gaffney’s Secure Freedom Radio, the sage of the Hoover Institution and Johns Hopkins University Professor Fouad Ajami, puts America’s actions in Iraq into proper strategic and historical context. In the words of General Norman Schwarzkopf, “The road to Baghdad lay open before us.” That was in 1991. We did not take that road. We did not stop Saddam Hussein and so we had to monitor him which led us down the road at which we find ourselves now. How are we finishing, or rather, not finishing in Baghdad this time around? There is no one more intellectually equipped to look at the road behind us and tell us what is ahead than Professor Ajami.
