Iran's Ahmadinejad In Speech Today: Defiant, Emboldened By Events in Middle East

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad delivered a blistering speech in Bushehr, a city in Iran’s southwest that also is the site of nuclear facilities. According to Press TV of Iran today (as translated by MEMRI) the Iranian Prez said that the revolt was a result of “massive pent-up energy against satanic forces in the region.” And he claimed (while is secret police was beating up protesters elsewhere in the country) “We have always said, and we say it again, that freedom of speech, the right to determine destiny, and the right to ask for justice and spirituality is the right of all nations.” He sent on to say that when it comes to Iran’s nuclear program, Iran would not “give up an oita of its rights…we are not making a single step back.”
