The King Hearings on Radical Islam: Political Correctness on the Right

As Congressman Peter King waters down his efforts to show ‘radicalization’ of the Muslim community in the USA by not inviting the people who can tell the reality of the situation to his hearing, people like Steve Emerson, Robert Spencer, Walid Phares, Walid Shoebat, Hirsi Ali, Nonie Darwish and many other former Muslims who know what they are talking about are on the uninvited list.

Mr. King has given in to pressure from the Muslim lobby of CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) who themselves are a terror front group. There are many on the right who have this holy cow, “thou shalt not criticize a Republican.” Those who are intellectually honest do not subscribe to such thinking. The premise that Muslims need to be radicalized is self-deception and delusion. Islam itself – based on how it is interpreted by 99% of all Muslim followers – is radical; one just has to do some reading of Sharia which is the explanation to Muslims by the classical scholars of Islam; it instructs Muslims how they should live their lives in every aspect including dealing with us infidels (i.e., Jihad).

The Congressman may have been courageous and well meaning when he started this exercise but based on the people he is proposing and not proposing to testify it appears he has caved into the usual political correctness that infects all the people inside the Beltway. Statements that, “the vast majority of Muslims in America are peaceful” is as useful as saying “the vast majority of Germans were not Nazis.” It defies common sense as to why the Congressman is wasting his time and our taxpayers’ money with this exercise in futility. If he wants to hold a hearing, great, but shouldn’t he call people who can give the most accurate information?

The former Ground Zero Mosque Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf says that Mr. King’s efforts will “cause Muslim youth to become radical.” There you have it good people of the USA. If you have an honest and public discussion about a serious issue that threatens the United States of America and the free world, it will cause those nice peaceful Muslims in the United States to become radical. It is so heartening to have Feisal Abdul Rauf among our “moderate” voices in the Muslim community. It is lucky the Imam Rauf lives in the USA under our great constitution because if he lived in Saudi Arabia and spoke against a leader in that country he would be facing death or a long prison sentence. For those who have not read the Sharia, it would be the duty of Muslim subjects living under an “unjust” leader to obey him. Based on Imam Rauf’s own Sharia law he is disobeying it by not conforming to our “injustice.” One caveat is that we are not Muslims so the Sharia edicts do not apply; we are just Dhimmis and when the time is ripe, we are to be subjugated as the “Holy Quran” points out.

There are many politicians from both parties who know the truth about what we are facing as a nation but like most, the art of being reelected is more important than principal or speaking the truth. The media is largely responsible for this cowardice amongst our leaders as they will not do the proper work and are corrupted by Muslim business interests as well as political correctness, which infects both the left and the right in the media due to the fear of being labeled or losing advertising sponsors when CAIR intimidates anyone who dares to speak the truth.

As a nation we must overcome this myopia. If we do not, both Muslims and non-Muslims will be subjected to upheavals that will leave many millions dead. Speaking the truth and taking the action necessary to stamp out Islamist ideology might avert this catastrophe.

One ray of hope is Congressman Allen West who has shown bravery and principal in dealing with this issue. I pray that forces of darkness do not silence him and that many other leaders will join him in speaking the truth.
