Wow, will Japan be next? I know the people of Japan can hardly wait; again pardon the pun. Or Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia…waiting for another big bow (WOW) from the big dog…my bad, another bad pun. The deficit, the budget, his 62d round of golf(that’s a round every 12 days of his presidency) just maybe all around decision making seem to be distractions to the Rio bound Prez.

Back to Libya and air support for the rebels. My friend Gen. Nortie Schwartz, CoS of the USAF says NOW a no fly zone is not enough, it’s too late. He may be right, but we really needed to give it a shot when the leader of all the world said “Qadaffi must go” on the 3rd of March. Idle threats are Allah’s workshop. HMMM, are we having trouble pulling up our big boy pants and focusing on issues? Nope the cutting down to size of our nation as in “Dreams of My dear ol Daddy” is still an ugly on going task. Just ask the 12,000 Somali’s the Administration has dumped in Middle Tennessee and other Muslim “immigrants” elsewhere. They’ll tell you, IT’S WORKING!!! Gee, I wonder if the timing of all the chaos in the Middle East is directly proportional to the lack of ANY foreign policy or anything other than campaign rhetoric coming from the Ex Super Power ….who is acting weak and watery, hesitant, but really wants to talk you out of revolution especially on his back swing.
Again back to Libya. I’ve got 2 words for you. PAN AM 103. Ok Ok so it’s alpha numeric’s. Lockerbie Scotland, remember? If for no other reason, this despot, QA “daffey” needs not to be the leader of an oil rich nation in a critical part of the world. “Present” Obama said so himself. Remind the residents of the so called Middle-East that they all….ALL OF ISLAM with its stated sacred goal of one Caliphate in one world, declared war on us! We are the defenders of freedom and they are a group that holds an ideology of world domination with them in charge, leading with religion. And if we don’t convert they will kill all of us. Strength shown to Col. Qadaffi (Wow the highest rank one can hold in the Libyan armed forces is Lieutenant Colonel) made him stop and take notice. Remember 1986 when we dropped a Mark 82 smart bomb in the front tent flap of ol Muamar’s “Tent sweet Tent”? Remember what he did? He shut the hell up for 13 years, not a peep. These folks only understand strength and that’s not talk! That’s action.
Nortie may be right about too little, too late as the Qadaffi forces are all over the rebels heading back to Benghazi. But take away the strafing and bombing and stop what probably is wholesale slaughter and maybe something good will happen. But let’s not forget that the last time we did Libya by air, we lost people. As soon as the first US fighter hits Libyan airspace his cockpit will look like Christmas in Rockefeller Center with dozens of radar sites “painting” him for missile launch. It won’t be pleasant up there dodging telephone poles but U.S. fighter pilots, you may have noticed (as they have) are damn good at what they do. Diplomacy perhaps gets better when Air Force and Navy jets control the skies. There aren’t many places that have cover and concealment out there on the ground around rural route 4 p.o. box 18 central Libya. A no fly zone that puts all that air power on the ground just might have a positive effect. Then Ms Hillary can do good things in the whole region which as of Air Force 1’s wheels up to Rio is on fire with opportunity for us to influence in a positive way. Let’s not just vote “present” let’s take action.
