Shooting A Rocket On A Yellow School Bus Is A Crime Against Humanity

There are unwritten rules of engagement which create the fragile balance between Israel and Hamas. Over the last few weeks, Hamas has intentionally increased the flames. Little by little with longer range Grad rockets on Beer Sheva or Ashkelon, with a barrage of rockets on closer Israeli villages, Hamas tilted the balance.

But when Hamas intentionally fired an anti tank missile on a school bus carrying children it committed a war crime of the worst kind. Hamas tries to spin it as if it didn’t know it was a school bus – but the people of Hamas live in this world, and a yellow school bus is a symbol of childhood that cannot be ignored. Sadly, Hamas’ history of committed terror acts resulted in too many children victims, so we in Giyus.org are not not buying Hamas’ excuses that they didn’t know it was a school bus. The timing of the attack as well as the use of the advanced Kornet rocket and the barrage of mortars that follow also indicate a well planned attack that was done with the full consent of Hamas’ leadership.

It was pure luck that most of the children got off the bus just minutes before the rocket exploded. But 16 years old Daniel Viflic, who was the last one on the bus, remains in critical conditions.

The Associated Press reports that U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has “condemned the bus attack and expressed concern over civilian casualties” from Israel’s retaliatory strikes in Gaza. But such an intentional attack on a school bus should be condemned by human rights organizations across the board. But guess what – this is Israel we’re talking about and so far I haven’t seen any reference to this crime against humanity from human rights organizations.

Here are some leading organizations that have not condemned this brutal war crime against children – please take action and contact them. Urge them to hold Hamas responsible for this hideous crime. Click on each organization name to reach it’s Facebook page, click on “like” and then add your comment to the page.

If you don’t have a Facebook profile please click here to send an email to these organizations and demand Hamas be held accountable for intentionally attacking a school bus.
