Chinese Mother Punished for Telling Media About Forced Abortion

Feng Jianmei, the 23-year-old Chinese woman who was forced to abort her 7-month-old baby nearly two weeks ago, has yet to be allowed to the leave the hospital where the abortion took place. Moreover, in what appears to be a reaction to all the international attention her case attracted, her husband’s cell phone has been deactivated and he has”disappeared.”

The photograph of Feng with her aborted child in the bed beside her was published around the world. As a result, the city in which she lives has seen a number of demonstrations in which brain-washed citizens of the communist nation protest not her forced abortion, but the traitorous actions “she and her family” undertook in “discussing her situation with foreign media.”

Said Feng: “Right now, I feel the hospital is like a prison. I feel huge pressure, especially after the ‘traitor’ slogans started appearing in town.”

And while Feng is treated like a criminal, authorities in Ankang, the city in which she lives, “haven’t pursued a single person for criminal liability” as regards the abortion, although they had recently “vowed to investigate the case and punish those responsible.”

To date, only Feng has been punished.
