Not wanting to miss acknowledging the beginning of Ramadan, Barack Obama extended a greeting to Muslims around the world, especially the Islamists of the Arab Spring:
“On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I extend our warmest wishes to Muslim Americans and Muslims around the world at the start of Ramadan. This year, Ramadan holds special meaning for those citizens in the Middle East and North Africa who are courageously achieving democracy and self-determination and for those who are still struggling to achieve their universal rights. The United States continues to stand with those who seek the chance to decide their own destiny, to live free from fear and violence and to practice their faith freely.”
Really, Mr. Obama? Where were you when the Muslims in Iran tried to revolt against the mullahs? Where will the women of Afghanistan be when you abandon them by pulling out and leaving them to the Taliban? (Talk about a war on women.)
What? Those weren’t the people you wanted to live free from fear? Okay.
Was it only last year with your Ramadan greeting that you said, “The heartbreaking accounts of lost lives and the images of families and children in Somalia and the Horn of Africa struggling to survive remind us of our common humanity and compel us to act.”
Of course, there was no mention of Nigeria or Sudan; those were only Christians getting slaughtered.
The obsequiousness of the Islamist-sympathizing man in the White House is nauseating – and frightening.
