Hezbollah MP: Ultimate Goal of Nuclear Iran is Annihilation of Israel

Throughout the existence of Iran’s nuclear program, various excuses have been made to conceal the true purpose behind it. Each such excuse has communicated the same message – “move along folks, there’s nothing to see here.” During this time, it’s as if we’re actually supposed to hear Ahmadinejad’s tirades against Israel on the one hand, while ignoring them and embracing Iran’s promises of benign uses for nuclear power on the other.

Enter Hezbollah MP Walid Sakariya, who said just this week that the ultimate goal of a nuclear Iran is the annihilation of Israel. According to Sakariya: “The nuclear weapon is intended to create a balance of terror with Israel, to finish off the Zionist enterprise, and to end all Israeli aggression against the Arab nation.” (Not surprisingly, this squares perfectly Ahmadinejad’s desire to “eradicate Israel.”)

The MP’s words clearly demonstrate why Israel must act to protect themselves. Not only their future, but their very existence, is at stake. Iran simply cannot be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon.
