Islamist 9/11 Protests Reach Indonesia

Islamists in Egypt and Libya who attacked a US embassy and consulate were joined by protesters at the US embassy in Jakarta as well.

The Islamists in Jakarta were part of a group called “Sharia for Indonesia,” and they demonstrated against what they believe is an overreaching US policy toward Muslim countries throughtout the world.

During their protest they held signs celebrating the original 9/11 attacks: signs indicating that 9/11 was “the beginning of the end of democracy” and others with President Obama’s picture on them and the caption, “You lost the war: 11th anniversary of 9/11.”

Nearly two years after the Arab Spring officially began, the United States certainly hasn’t made any new friends.
