GOP Lawmakers Pressure Obama to Get Tough with Egypt's Morsi

In the wake of the Egyptian embassy attack on 9/11, Republican lawmakers are pressuring Obama to do retaliate.

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) believes Obama should be putting heavy pressure on Egypt and its president, Mohamed Morsi. King says such pressure should continue until Morsi makes it “absolutely clear” he is going to protect the US embassy from here forward.

King takes the president’s inconsistent messaging on Egypt’s ally status to mean Obama doesn’t know where Morsi stands on protecting US interests in Egypt. And if that’s the case, King wants to know why the Obama administration is giving Morsi’s government $1.6 billion a year in aid.

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) asserts that financial aid should be cut. He also thinks Obama should close the US embassy in Egypt and expel all Egyptian diplomats from our country.
