State Department Warned Against Libya Travel in August

As Kerry Picket of The Washington Times reports today, on August 27, just weeks before the murder of our ambassador and three other Americans in Benghazi, Libya, the State Department issued a travel warning for Americans planning to travel to Libya. The warning noted the risk of “political violence in the form of assassinations and vehicle bombs has increased in both Benghazi and Tripoli.”

Even as the State Department warned other Americans about the risks in Benghazi, it rejected additional security for Ambassador Chris Stevens.
