UAW President, Romney Agree: Obama's Military Cuts Will Cost Ohio Jobs

United Auto Workers President Bob King is warning that Obama’s military cuts will cost Ohio thousands of jobs.

And because we’re used to unions standing by Obama come hell or high water, union dissent is worthy of note. Especially when the union dissenting is warning Ohioans that Obama’s “cuts to the M-1 Abrams tank program” will hurt Ohio — and Pennsylvania and Michigan as well.

If given four more years, Obama intends to close “industrial facilities crucial to the Abrams program.” And according to King, this “puts at risk [a] specialized, highly skilled, high wage workforce that makes up the unique armor industrial base.”

Ironically, Gov. Romney’s campaign has been making this point for quite some time, and in October ran a radio ad in which Vice President Biden defended Obama’s cuts to the Abrams program. The ad included a Romney campaign voiceover making the point that ending the Abrams upgrade isn’t “just an attack against our ability to defend our freedom. It is also an attack against our jobs and our way of life.”

The UAW president and Romney agree: Obama’s military cuts are bad for Ohio.
