Taliban Vows Revenge After India Executes Mumbai Attack Terrorist

The Pakistani Taliban has vowed to attack Indians after India executed the lone surviving Pakistani terrorist from the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks that killed 166.

“It is a loss and an outrage that a Muslim was killed on Indian soil,” said Pakistani Taliban spokesman, Ihsanullah Ihsan.

The executed Pakistani terrorist, Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, was hanged in small cell in the Indian city of Pune. He had asked Indian president Pranab Mukherjee for clemency, but his pleas were denied.

Kasab’s having been the lone attacker to survive is akin to a 911 hijacker surviving in the US. Indians refer to the deadly Mumbai attack as 26/11, as it occurred on 11-26-08. There were celebrations across India over the hanging of Mr. Kasab. Both individuals and recognized political parties took part in the celebrations.

The Indian government continues to insist that Pakistani intelligence agencies were behind the Mumbai attacks.

Kavita Karkare, the widow of the chief of India’s counter-terrorism squad who was killed in the attacks, stated: “This is an incomplete justice as the masterminds and main handlers of 26/11 are still absconding, they should also be hanged.”

Mr. Kasab will be buried at Yerwada Central Jail, according to Indian authorities.
