Last week, Communist Party secretary of Chongqing’s Beibei district Lei Zhengfu was stripped of his office after a sex tape was released online showing Lei – a balding, obese, unpleasant looking sort – cavorting with an 18-year-old mistress. The journalist who released the tape, Zhu Ruifeng, says he has five more sex tapes in waiting of other Communist Party officials.
Xi Jinping, the newest Communist Party General Secretary, has already spoken out about the problem of corruption in the government. That’s no coincidence. As Time reported, “Publicizing the Lei scandal could help Xi with any new anticorruption drive.”
In China, even sex scandals are government-owned and operated.
