Iran on Uranium Enrichment: We Will Do What We Want

Iran’s nuclear energy chief Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani is on record saying Iran will go on enriching uranium “with intensity.”

This means international demands that Iran halt enrichment “to the higher 20 percent fissile purity level, close down its Fordow enrichment plant, and ship out its stockpile of that material” are all alike being ignored.

In other words, Iran is going to do what it wants regarding uranium enrichment.

Davani says Iran needs “20 percent refined uranium,” but assured the world it will used for peaceful purposes. He said it will be turned “into fuel for a medical research reactor” in Tehran.

Talks between Iran and the U.S., China, Britain, Russia, France, and Germany have been at a deadlock since June of this year. Behind the scenes, Senior Presidential Advisor Valerie Jarrett has been conducting talks with Tehran on behalf of Obama.

Nevertheless, Iran is doing what it wants regarding uranium enrichment.
