Iran: Israeli Death Squads Responsible for Connecticut Shooting

On Tuesday, in a baseless and reprehensible accusation, Iran’s Press-TV claimed that the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut was the work of “Israeli death squads.”

Part of the report consisted of an interview with conspiracy theorist and former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Michael Harris, wherein Harris described the shooting as a “terrorist attack” carried out by Israel:

The facts are now becoming obvious. This is another case where Israel has chosen violence and terrorism [because] their bullying in Washington has failed. Israel believes the U.S. “threw them under the bus,” particularly after the recent Gaza war, allowing Israel to be humiliated in the United Nations. Their response was to stage a terror attack… that butchers children.

After airing these ridiculous comments, Iran’s Press-TV then tried to say Israel’s opposition to former Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE) being appointed Secretary of Defense is “further proof of an Israeli conspiracy.”

As others have pointed out, these are baseless allegations, both shameful and untrue.
