Report: Hugo Chavez On Life Support in Cuba

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is reportedly in a medically induced coma and is being kept alive via life support.

Sources within the Cuban hospital say Chavez is so weak doctors could take him off life support “at any moment.”

Details concerning Chavez’s health have not been forthcoming over the past few weeks, which had led even some Chavez supporters to believe facts were being suppressed.

Venezuelan Vice President Nicolas Maduro tried to allay these concerns on Jan. 1, when he told Venezuelans rumors about Chavez were being spread “by the enemies of Venezuela.”

A day later, it appears these were more than “rumors,” and Chavez is clinging on for dear life.
