Last Friday, Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority and a man whom the world mistakenly regards as moderate, appeared on PA TV and named the “martyrs” of the Palestinian people. Among the “pioneers” whom Abbas mentioned was “the Grand Mufti of Palestine, Hajj Muhammad Amin Al-Husseini.”
Why is Abbas, a moderate, praising someone who was one of the participants in Hitler’s “Final Solution”?
The Grand Mufti collaborated actively with Himmler and Eichmann in the conduct of the “Final Solution” to exterminate the Jews of Europe. He toured Auschwitz concentration camp with Eichmann, and according to later testimony at the Nuremburg Trials by top Eichmann aide and SS-Hauptsturmführer Dieter Wisliceny, al-Husseini constantly urged greater haste in the killing of the Jews.
Al-Husseini often addressed Hitler’s Arab allies in a series of radio propaganda broadcasts during WWII:
Arabs, rise as one man and fight for your sacred rights. Kill the Jews wherever you find them. This pleases God, history, and religion. This saves your honor. God is with you.
