Reid: 'Outlandish' to Claim Obama Hasn't Been Forthcoming Over Benghazi

In defending the nomination of Chuck Hagel on Feb. 14, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) complained that the insinuation that “the administration hasn’t been forthcoming about Benghazi is outlandish.”

Reid went on to say the Senate Armed Services committee has been given all the “information that’s available on Benghazi.”

He said the committee has testimony from “administration officials, from multiple committees, from the independent review board, [and from] Sec. Clinton [and] Sec. Panetta.”

What he didn’t say is that Clinton did not want to answer questions about possible gun running out of Benghazi to Syrian rebels.

Nor did Reid mention that the public wasn’t told Obama was AWOL on the night of the Benghazi attacks until Panetta admitted as much during his testimony.

It was a full week after Panetta’s testimony before White House counsel admitted Obama hadn’t placed any phone calls to his own cabinet or to Libyan officials on the night of the terrorist attack that killed four Americans.
