Report: Iranian Missiles Could Hit Continental U.S. by 2015

A new report by the National Air and Space Intelligence Center concludes that”Iran has ambitious missile and space launch development programs” and “could test an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of reaching the United States by 2015.”

The results of the report were carried on IsraelHayom.com, and included an admission that the U.S. does not currently know how many ICBMs Iran might already possess.

The report is entitled “Foreign Ballistic and Cruise Missile Threat Assessment.” It shows that since 2008 Iran has been quite active and “successful” at testing various missile configurations, including the large “two-stage Simorgh SLV, which could serve as a test bed for developing ICBM technologies.”

The report also shows that Iran is using its “space launch development programs” as an indirect means of increasing “the range, lethality, and accuracy of its ballistic missile force.”

Iran’s missile development program has received “support from entities in Russia, China, and North Korea.”
