Morsi's Family Claims Army Kidnapped Him

Former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi’s family is asserting that the Egyptian Army has kidnapped him. Morsi has not been seen publicly since July 3. Morsi’s daughter Shaimaa stated that the family was filing suit against the army. She said, “We are taking local and international legal measures against Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, the leader of the bloody military coup, and his putschist group.” Her brother Osama echoed, “What is going on is a violation of human rights and a scandal in every sense of the word,” calling Morsi’s present status of being held by the military an “abduction.”

Morsi’s family is taking their case for an investigation of what transpired when Morsi was deposed to the International Criminal Court. The Obama Administration has joined several other countries calling for the army to release Morsi.
