Kerry: Obama Doesn't 'Bluff'

Testifying before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday, Secretary of State John Kerry said there was no question in his mind that President Barack Obama does not “bluff” on foreign policy threats, especially regarding his vow that Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons.

“There is no question in my mind the president of the United States does not bluff, and he is committed that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon,” Kerry said in discussing the Iran threat.

Kerry made his comments hours after Obama claimed he never set a red-line on Syria.

“That’s not something I just made up. I didn’t pluck it out of thin air,” Obama said in Stockholm during a joint press conference with Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt. “I didn’t set a red line. The world set a red line.”

Obama set his red line in August of 2012 in comments that were reportedly made off-the-cuff.
