Free Syrian Army: Assad Moving Chemical Weapons to Lebanon, Iraq
On Sunday, General Salim Idriss, who heads the Free Syrian Army opposition to the Assad regime, said that Syria has been moving weapons of mass destruction out of the country into Lebanon and Iraq. The Iraqi government said that such reports were “cheap propaganda,” with the Prime Minister’s office stating, “We confirm that Iraq is against possessing such weapons and other weapons of mass destruction anywhere in the world and under any excuse.” Lebanon has long been a proxy state for Syria, with terrorist group Hezbollah acting as Syria’s most obvious anti-Western tentacle.
