On July 7, 2005, four suicide bombers detonated bombs in a coordinatedattack on the London subway system, killing 52 people and injuringhundreds. The terrorist bombings all went off simultaneously at about8:50 AM local time — the same time of day that the Madrid subwaybombing occurred on March 11, 2004, and the time of day that the firstplane flew into the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001. One of the 7/7bombers, Jermaine Lindsay, was married to Samantha Lewthwaite, whocondemned the bombing and said she had known nothing about it.

After that, Lewthwaite was responsible for a string of terror acts inKenya. She was dubbed the “White Widow,” and has become the world’smost wanted woman. Now, a dead white woman has been found among theterrorists killed by soldiers in the Kenya mall attack, andspeculation is growing that the dead woman is the “White Widow.”Daily Mail (London)

Israel has developed alliances with a number ofmajority Christian African countries, including Kenya, Ethiopia,Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, Togo, and South Sudan. Greece tries to purge Golden Dawn from police

Greece’s neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party has been losing popularity in thelast few days since a self-identified Golden Dawn member last weekkilled a left-wing rapper, Pavlos Fyssas. Golden Dawn’s popularity had already been low but growing in the last few years, despite (or because of)their program of targeting immigrants economically and sometimesviolently.

However, the murder of ethnic Greek Fyssas, apparentlyjust because he was left-wing, has shocked the Greek public, turningit against Golden Dawn. Even worse, the Greek police have beenstanding by while Golden Dawn members have attacked immigrants anddid so again when Fyssas was killed. In an effort to purge the policeof Golden Dawn sympathizers, over a dozen senior offices of the policewere fired, suspended, or transferred on Monday. A probe of the policeinvolvement in the Fyssas murder is continuing, though some peoplefear a backlash among the police if they feel they’re being madescapegoats. Kathimerini
