Russia Hands Over Nuclear Reactor to Iran

Numerous reports indicate Russia handed control of its “1,000 megawatt” Bushehr nuclear reactor to Iran on Monday.

According to WorldTribune.com, Russia transferred control and promised to “provide fuel for the reactor for at least a decade.”

It took 37 years to build the reactor, which has had safety and function problems since being “inaugurated in 2010.” It has been closed at least twice due to earthquakes.

The Moscow Times reports, “Russian specialists will remain on the premises for two years to offer advice and technical support.”
