When accused killer Michael Adebolajo described the death and decapitation of British soldier Lee Rigby in interviews with police officers, he reportedly described himself as a “soldier of Allah.”
According to Fox News, Adebolajo said there is a war taking place “between Muslims and the British people,” and the attack on Rigby was something that had to be done but which brought him “little joy.”
Adebolajo described Rigby’s death: “He was struck in the neck with a sharp implement and it was sawed until his head, you know, almost detached and Allah forgive me if I acted in a way that is displeasing to him.”
He also said he was ashamed of being British because of the way UK forces “murder, rape, and pillage” in Afghanistan.
Convicted Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan referred to himself as a “soldier of Allah,” as well.
