Eric Cantor Mingling with Global Elite on Taxpayer-Funded Trip

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) is on a taxpayer-funded trip to Davos to attend the World Economic Forum, where the global superclass regularly meets to discuss multinational issues that are important to them–like immigration reform.

Cantor told the Huffington Post on Friday that his trip to Davos, described as a “veritable Disneyland of ostentatious cocktail parties underwritten by global banks, technology companies and other well-heeled concerns,” was an “official trip.” He is reportedly leading a congressional delegation there.

Back at home, Cantor has in the past spoken at the Aspen Ideas Festival, which similarly gathers the “Party of Davos”-minded “intellectuals” about immigration reform issues like giving citizenship to illegal immigrants brought to the country by their parents. Cantor, who has supported policies like TARP that favor the financial elite, also has been on a panel where “the Common Core revolution” was discussed in similar settings.
