Venezuelan President: China Building World Power Based on 'Equality'

On May 13th, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said, “China practices international relations on the basis of equality.” 

This comment came during In touch with Maduro, Maduro’s television show.

According to Xinhuanet, Maduro said his country’s relationship with China “touched all aspects of Venezuelan society” and that Venezuela has “conducted cooperation [with China] in finance, economy, trade, energy, science, technology, military, society and culture.” 

He also asserted that such “cooperation was built among emerging countries that respect each other and do not impose political views on each other.”

Maduro added, “It shows that, just starting in the 21st century, it is possible to build a new world power without the imperialistic practice of colonization and domination.”
