A Nigerian military source looking at the forces arrayed to find the girls abducted by Boko Haram says the hastag effort being run by Michelle Obama “doesn’t fit with the reality of the situation.”
Michelle Obama and Angelina Jolie are promoting the #BringOurGirlsBack Twitter tag in a an effort to find the school girls. However, the girls’ captors do not appear overly inclined to read or communicate via Twitter.
According to Reuters, the situation is so grave that those on the ground in Nigeria do not believe it will end well. Boko Haram expect Jacob Zenn, an expert at the counter-terrorism institution CTC Sentinel, said: “I think rescue is currently unlikely and unfeasible.”
The hope that British forces might locate then parachute in to save the girls is remote at best, because the Boko Haram video everyone was using to find the girls’ is now estimated to have been 10 days old at its release. Thus means that “by now, the girls could be somewhere else as a group or dispersed to many places.”
