The ceasefire in east Ukraine is over, and President Petro Poroshenko said the government will attack the pro-Russian forces if necessary. As of 12:35 p.m. Kiev time, four civilians were killed and two Ukrainian journalists kidnapped.
“Taking into account all the circumstances, I can affirm that things will be difficult, but we must be united, because we are fighting to free our land from dirt and parasites,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
The following updates are from The Kyiv Post‘s live blog. In Kramatorsk, a bus was attacked, leaving four dead and five wounded. The wounded were taken to a local hospital and are currently receiving treatment. Hromadske TV journalist Anastasio Stanko and cameraman Ilya Bezkorovayniy were kidnapped in the Luhansk People’s Republic early Monday morning. Mustafa Nayyem was kidnapped on June 30, but he was released Monday morning in Kharkiv.
