Journalists in Maryinka said the Ukrainian army shelled the city, but spokesman Andriy Lysenko said the rebels shelled themselves and they are not allowing people to the scene to rescue the injured. Residents believe Kiev is responsible.

“Even the fascists didn’t do what they did. So many peaceful citizens,” said Valentina Mikhailovna. “Look what’s happening! Dead, dead, dead people!”
