Islamic State Forces 250 Syrian Soldiers to Strip, Executes Them in the Desert

Footage has emerged that appears to show Islamic State (IS) militants forcing 250 captured Syrian soldiers to strip down to their underwear before being marched into the desert and shot en masse.

According to Mail Online, the video shows them being “marched through the desert… then fades to black, resuming with a pile of bloodied bodies stacked on top of one another.” An IS militant “claimed the men were from the Syrian government’s Tabqa air base,” which was seized by IS on August 24.

A captioned video of the slaughter says, “The 250 shabeeha taken captive by the Islamic State from Tabqa in Raqqa have been executed.”  “Shabeeha” is the name Islamists use to refer to soldiers who continue in allegiance to President Bashar al-Assad.

The IS militants chanted, “The Islamic State, it will remain” prior to killing the soldiers.

In July TOMO News published videos and photographs that showed “the mass execution of Iraqi soldiers” by IS militants. And on August 19 Breitbart News reported that IS had released a video message to Americans, which said, “We will drown all of you in blood.”
